Celeste maintains a civil litigation practice with a focus on insurance defence. She advises insurers on construction, property damage and product liability disputes, as well as serious personal injury and commercial host claims. She has also built a strong reputation with her clients for her comprehensive coverage opinions relating to CGL, property, builders’ risk, course of construction, motor vehicle and E&O policies.
Celeste is frequently called upon to advise on personal injury claims involving complex issues of liability and causation. She has extensive experience with motor vehicle and slip and fall claims, as well as non-WCB workplace injuries. Celeste’s experience in construction matters helps her understand and evaluate the many different aspects of a claim including issues of betterment, repair and replacement. She has considerable knowledge acting on commercial claims and works with a network of professionals to accurately assess business loss and business interruption disputes.
Celeste has a fair but firm philosophy and an ability to successfully engage with all the parties involved in a claim. Her proactive approach begins with an early analysis of the claim and an assessment of the options available that will bring about a timely resolution. She continuously re-evaluates files as they progress and advises her clients about new opportunities for resolving matters as they develop.
