Professional Background
Silas recently joined our office as articling student after summering with the firm in 2023 and 2024. His work as an articling student involves mainly working in the firm’s civil litigation department, where he enjoys insurance law. His tasks include conducting research, drafting documents, writing reports, attending questionings, and making court appearances. Silas first attended the University of Michigan-Dearborn where he played hockey, majoring in Biology and minoring in Criminology & Criminal Justice. His keen eye for detail and interest in ensuring justice be done drew him to pursuing a career in law. He attended the University of Alberta Faculty of Law, where his fondest memory was twice winning the annual Dale Masson law school hockey tournament as a member of the Tortfeasors hockey team. Outside of the office, Silas continues to practice his passion for enforcing fairness and interpreting rules as an avid hockey referee.
