Professional Background

Chelly brings a background in education, advocacy, and client services to her articling year at SVR. Before attending law school, she worked as an elementary and secondary school teacher. She later served as a justice coordinator at the Zebra Child Advocacy Centre and as an intake coordinator at the Edmonton Community Legal Centre. These experiences sparked her interest in helping individuals and families navigate challenging situations. While in law school at the University of Alberta, Chelly gained practical experience through moot court competitions, Student Legal Services, and volunteer work in the community through organizations that aim to increase access to justice.

After spending two summers with SVR, Chelly has returned to complete her articling year. She assists lawyers with research, drafting, and litigation proceedings while gaining experience in a variety of practice areas.

Outside the office, Chelly enjoys travelling, baking, crafting, and spending time with her dog, Kylo.
