Professional Background

Helping people resolve problems has always been the motivating force that has led Jake to a career in law. As an associate lawyer, words and communication skills are the tools of his craft. Jake’s education in linguistics allows him to put theory into practice as he advocates for his clients.

Resolving issues for a wide range of people is nothing new to Jake. Prior to joining SVR, he worked in both client services and sales, and also held a summer student position with a real estate law firm in Calgary. With that experience under his belt, Jake feels more than ready to take on any challenge that is thrown his way.

Jake was an active volunteer with the Halifax Mission throughout his undergraduate studies, and in law school, he volunteered with the school’s high school outreach program and student advocacy service. He grew up on the Atlantic and Pacific coasts and has settled in “the middle ground” of Calgary where he enjoys Brazilian jiu-jitsu, chess, rock climbing, and hiking in his spare time.
