Professional Background

Elizabeth advises business owners, professionals, executives, and other high-net-worth individuals on family law matters involving significant assets and complex financial issues. With nearly 30 years of experience, she helps clients protect their financial interests while guiding them through separation, divorce and other family law disputes. Elizabeth sees beyond the immediate dispute to the outcome her clients ultimately want to achieve. Her practice is built on thorough preparation, sound judgment, and strategies focused on achieving the best long-term result.

Elizabeth’s work frequently involves privately held businesses, professional corporations, investment portfolios and real estate holdings, family trusts, executive compensation, and foreign assets. She regularly advises on business valuations, the division of corporate interests, spousal support, and domestic contracts, including prenuptial and cohabitation agreements. She prepares every file as though it may ultimately be decided in court. This disciplined approach allows her to negotiate from a position of strength while avoiding distractions that add cost, delay, and unnecessary conflict.

Outside her practice, Elizabeth has remained committed to public service throughout her career. While attending university, she was among the first women to serve in a combat arms role as a Reservist in the Royal Canadian Artillery.  She was commissioned as an officer and promoted to Second Lieutenant.  More recently, she served on the board of the Calgary Highlanders Regimental Funds Foundation for four years to raise money for soldiers and veterans.  She helped advance the introduction of eagle feathers for oath-taking in Alberta's courts, reflecting her longstanding commitment to leadership, service, and improving access to justice.
